We’re proud to introduce you to Emma Parrett, OMD UK’s Partnerships Associate Director, who was named in Media Week’s 30 under 30 this morning. We caught up with her just after the news broke to see how she’s feeling.
Hello Emma! I guess you’re having a pretty good week? How does it feel to be named part of Media Week’s 30 under 30?
It feels incredible! It was such an honour just to be put forward by OMD UK, but to find out that I’ve made the top 30 alongside three of my brilliant colleagues (Zoe Blake, Sophy Part and Laura Garratt) is just amazing.
How was it entering this award? Did you enjoy it?
Being brutally honest it turns out I’m not a ‘natural’ in front of the camera. However, as with life it’s always good to push yourself outside of your natural comfort zone and this definitely did that for me. Plus it’s a really empowering experience to reflect on what I’ve achieved to date.
What are your ambitions for the next three years?
Right now I know I want to keep working with Henry (Lewis, Partnerships Director at OMD UK) to establish our team as the best and most innovative media partnerships team in the industry. I want the rest of my agency and our clients to be excited and passionate about the opportunities we are creating and in turn to produce lots of award-winning work!
And finally, what would you advise someone just getting into media?
Don’t be afraid to move about within the industry. Moving from media owner to media agency has opened my mind in more ways that I could have ever imagined. I think your 20s are a great time to try out different career paths without worrying about having all the answers.
