Following our award of the IPA CPD Platinum Accreditation for the sixth year in a row, we’re reflecting on some of the key changes we’ve made over the last 12 months that have helped us achieve this award.
The OMD Academy was originally launched in 2015 as the overarching banner for all our training and development at OMD UK, and we have stayed true to this ever since.
Under the OMD Academy, our team has access to a plethora of training to help aid their development and ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to fulfill their role today and in the future. It is the wrapper for all our learning and development programmes from Core Skills, to our Accelerate programme, a series of modules which aim to demystify the complexities of data, technology and digital media.
This year, we evolved the OMD Academy by creating the OMD UK Mobile Academy App – a mobile app which helps support and develop the learning needs of our people. Our bespoke app allows learners the opportunity to complete training at times that suits them (i.e. during their commute to/from work or in their lunch hour) and allows line managers to assign mandatory training to their team members.
Users can navigate, track and book training easily, as well as complete e-learning modules, watch TED Talks, listen to podcasts and receive reading recommendations which can be added by anyone in the agency.
Following our launch of the app, the rest of the Omnicom group is looking at rolling out the Academy app.
