Last week, OMD UK enjoyed an exciting cultural trip to Calais, courtesy of Eurotunnel Le Shuttle. Our delegation – comprised of social, Fuse, SEO, digital, planning and Simbiotik teams – were given a full exploratory tour of the Victor Hugo Terminal in Folkestone, including an exclusive viewing of the shiny new pets’ playground and accompanying ‘girls in season’ area. After a realtime brainstorm and a spot of pre-Valentine’s Day shopping, we went off to the exclusive Flexiplus lounge, where we were showered with baguettes, crisps and cakes, all bundled in branded Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Tote bags.
We were soon all aboard the Shuttle, and 35 minutes later the smooth open road of the French A16 stretched before us. Before anyone could stop for some discounted wine, however, it was off to the Charles Darwin Terminal in Calais for a debrief on how OMD UK and Eurotunnel can create stronger brand partnerships and improve experiential activity on both sides of the Channel.
Bursting with food for thought, we hopped back on the Shuttle for the return leg of our journey, making sure we snapped an OMD UK/Eurotunnel Le Shuttle team photo to finish what was a very productive and enjoyable day.
