Our client SSE plc, working with Omnicom Media Group’s Content Agency DRUM, today launches its inaugural brand campaign to drive awareness of it as a leading low carbon energy company striving for a net zero world.
“We Power Change”, created by DRUM, launched on World Earth Day and will communicate SSE’s commitment to a net zero future and bring to life how SSE is powering the change needed today, to build a better world of energy for tomorrow.
The campaign will also highlight SSE’s partnership with the UK Government on the global climate change event, COP26, which will take place in Glasgow in November 2021.
The creative behind the campaign was shot on location in England and Scotland, telling the story of a team effort on the journey to net zero. One that involves thousands of people working as one to deliver the clean green energy needed to power homes and businesses and tackle climate change.
OMD UK has handled all the media planning and buying, which will see the campaign launch across national print and digital and includes a multi-platform media partnership with The Times. Furthermore, a radio sponsorship of the Sunday G&T Show on Times Radio will run until COP26, as well as further print insertions, digital placements, and podcasts to drive awareness of SSE and COP26 throughout 2021.
Suzie Rook, Head of Group Brand and Design, SSE said:
“As Principal Partner of COP26 – The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference – we’re passionate about bringing to life the incredible work all our employees and partners are doing across the UK and Ireland to power change on the journey to net zero and OMD UK and DRUM are helping us to demonstrate that commitment. If the UK is to meet a Net Zero target by 2050 then we need to encourage and communicate action for change, and this campaign demonstrates how SSE plc is helping to achieve that.”
