This week, we take a look at OMD Hungary’s brilliant University Challenge initiative.
For over 10 years, OMD Hungary has organised a nationwide media competition for university and college students. The objective? Find amazing new talent for OMD. Putting the students to the test, the competition simulated an agency pitch process, based on a real brief from this year’s sponsor Liberty Global.
The top five teams presented their proposals to a professional jury, including the Liberty Global client, OMD management and key local media owners. This year’s winners, three students from the Budapest Business School, have all received a three-month internship offer at OMD Hungary, and a brand new tablet with which to conjure up fantastic ideas. Since 2001 the programme has been incredibly successful with more than 359 teams taking part, 30 new OMD recruits (seven of them now hold senior positions at OMD Hungary) and countless fresh ideas and new perspectives for OMD’s clients.
