OMD Oasis Day 4 | Cultural trends, mobility, and ad tech

Our morning at the OMD Oasis started with some very exciting news that the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity awarded OMD Worldwide ‘Media Network of the Year 2017’. With one gold, five silver and five bronze, we can be extremely proud of the creative and innovative work we are producing around the world in partnership with our clients.

The day then saw yet again a number of fantastic sessions, kicking off with a panel led by OMD EMEA’s Chief Content Officer, Joanna Lawrence. Joined by leaders from Condé Nast, Activision, Facebook and CNN, the panel discussed how relevant cultural trends are identified, as well as how brands and agencies need to evolve their structure to respond at speed.

Next, we were joined by McDonald’s VP of Global Marketing, Colin Mitchell who said the key to delivering surprise and delight for consumers around the world is with long term agency partnerships, culture and trust. Having worked with McDonald’s since 1955, we are pleased to be a part of their journey.

Another highlight included visionary thinker Bonin Bough. Bough energetically discussed how we can create brand stories through entrepreneurship and innovation. In particular, he highlighted that we are not spending enough time understanding the impact of mobility.
